About us

Hi! Welcome to Mata and Me! My name is Anadi Dasi Brito. Mata means mom in Sanskrit. I am a mother of two and Mata and Me is a labor of love for my kids. I make conscious clothing and hope to do my part to help the world be a better place for our kids and generations to come.

My daughter Vrinda has a disability that makes it difficult for her to do the things that most of us take for granted. She inspires me on a daily basis to be more compassionate, generous and loving. I took over Mata and Me as an offering of love for her. We feel honored to share our beautiful conscious creations with you.

I have degree in Psychology and Education and I am a self-taught interior designer. Besides designing all the pieces for Mata and Me, I also love interior design and I often help my husband with his work.

We are a Vaishnava family of four. Vrinda is our 10 year old girl and Vamsidhara is our 6 year old boy. My husband Antarananda Das is an engineer and Real Estate investor and a wonderful loving father. We live in Alachua, FL in 5 beautiful acres surrounded by gorgeous oak and pine trees. We love nature and we travel often, especially around Florida. We love all the beautiful beaches and nature around here.

We believe in unity, inclusion and giving back to our community.

We welcome you to our online shop and to help us spread goodness in the world! Thank you for supporting a small business.

Warmly,

Anadi Brito

What is Conscious Clothing?

Conscious living is something that I apply in all aspects of my life - including my clothing.

We work with natural fibers including raw cotton, linen, jute and hemp. We use natural vegetable dyes on our textiles. All our dresses and Gopi Skirts are made from 100% pure cotton, exclusive of some dupatta scarves and gold trims. We do our best to be a sustainable clothing brand and to respect our planet and Mother Earth.

Our designs are created in an ethical way with traditional textiles, hand-block printing, hand-ikat weaving and craftsmanship that has been passed down for centuries. We proudly support artisans and their families to keep the traditions alive. .

We call our clothing Conscious Clothing because of the ethical pay and workmanship associated with creating our clothing and textiles. We are a fair trade and sustainable clothing brand. All of our pieces are handmade as an offering of love from our family, to yours. Thank you so much for your support and love!
